Astrylon 0.1.9
A real first flight
New pilots now start with a guided first flight, alone on the edge of the shipyard, before reaching the station.
- Learn to move and use the boost, then fight pirates that get tougher one after another.
- Hull, shield and repairing while resting are explained mid flight.
- The pirate ringleader drops an Ion Blaster: you fit it yourself from the ship screen.
- Your first two modules, Missile Rain and Torpedo, are tried out on an enemy wave. They count as your starting choice.
- Every new feature is introduced calmly: enemies only arrive once you click "Let's go".
- A first round of mining, then a portal to the station.
- The station part is shorter so you get into the game faster.
Tips and screen introductions
- Every window introduces itself the first time you open it: a short guided tour of its areas, which you can skip.
- Tips show up at the right moment: first guardian, first elite, full hold, sector still closed, coming back after a break, and many more.
- What you have already seen never shows up again, whichever ship of your account you fly.
Elites with guards
- Elites now patrol sectors 4 to 9, surrounded by guards that come back over time.
- Take down the guards, then the elite: when it falls, its whole escort explodes and you also get the guards' loot.
- Elites pay far more than regular pirates and respawn every 5 minutes.
- The galaxy map shows which sectors hold an elite, with its portrait.
Station teleporter
- The teleporter at the center of the station takes you to any sector you already visited and that is open at your level, for free.
- Jump beacons still let you jump from anywhere, without going back to the station.
- The portal from the center of the station to Fleet Command has been removed: you now reach it through Sector 9, key in hand.
Level up
- New level up animation, with a ground wave, a column of light and its own sound.
- Leveling up now announces the sectors that just opened.
Interface
- The game now tells you why an action does not go through: no gear change in combat, building too far or full inventory.
- Hovering a marker on the minimap shows its name.
- Changing sectors is about twice as fast.
- Destroyed enemies break apart before exploding.
Fixes
- A new ship's hull and shield display correctly as soon as it arrives.
- Weapon recoil no longer shakes the whole hull of some ships.
- The password reset email has been polished.
