Astrylon 0.1.8
Major galaxy rebalance
The whole progression has been reworked to feel smoother from the first sector to the last.
Progression
- Each sector now requires a minimum level: level 5 for Sector 2, rising up to level 45 for Sector 9 and 50 for Fleet Command. Portals and the galaxy map show the required level.
- Enemies in sectors 5 to 9 have been recalibrated for a gentler difficulty curve.
- Repairing while resting is faster.
- Offline farming is calculated more fairly: it earns half of what you would earn playing, in the sector where you logged off.
- Permanent bonuses earned from quests now properly apply: damage, hull, shield, experience, credits, loot and refining.
- The Engineer job finally levels up: crafting a P2 grants experience from level 1.
- Quests now reward P1 equipment.
Abilities
- Abilities have been rebalanced against each other. Laser Beam, Ricochet, Shockwave, Torpedo and Ion Storm hit harder. Quantum Burst and Turret hit a little less hard.
Economy
- T3 ships now cost 4M.
- Upgrading a ship costs half as many credits.
- Every Overcharge attempt now costs credits, whether it succeeds or not. The price depends on the item's grade: from 12,500 credits at S1 to 1.25M at S5 for a P3, much less for a P1 or P2.
- Extra workshop slots now cost 250,000 then 1M credits.
- Crafting and upgrading an ability module costs more.
Galactic Market
- Upgraded items are priced on what they really cost to produce: an Overcharged item finally sells for what it is worth.
- The allowed price range is much wider.
- You can now pre-order an item by choosing its grade and upgrade level.
- Pre-orders can be cancelled properly and now show up in the market.
- Credits can now go above 2 billion.
Resources and crafting
- Mining and scavenging jobs level up more slowly, and each gathering cycle yields less. Jobs you already levelled keep their level.
- Offline gathering only works for resources from sectors you have access to.
- Titanium Ore and Nebula Condensate can now be found from Sector 4.
- Crafting a P2 or P3 requires far more materials: moving up a grade has to be earned.
- Upgrading from +1 to +20 requires twice as much Proto Alloy.
- Proto Alloy now requires Alloy Fragments and Plasma Shards: your combat loot finally feeds the forge.
- Stabilization Fragments now require Ion Cores.
- T1 and T2 ships require materials you can get by the time you can afford them.
- Several cell recipes have been updated.
Interface
- Material tooltips now show how to get them: mining, scavenging, loot, crafting or shop, with the sectors involved.
- The galaxy map now spells out each sector's number.
- The forge shows the credit cost of each Overcharge attempt.
Fixes
- Switching characters no longer loses the selected character's offline reward.
- Upgrade effects no longer linger on empty inventory slots.
- Convoys can be attacked again as soon as they return, even before they get into formation.
- Resource deposits are much easier to click, especially Comet Ice.
- The forge message now correctly says "Overcharge" instead of the old name.
